It is eight pm and I'm here with a cup of coffee and my cat project. I didn't think about the time difference cause I think my eyes are too tired to start 9 pm.

Muffins verden blogissa oli kutsu "käsityötapaamiseen", johon ajattelin illalla osallistua. Toivottavasti kissani edistyy hieman ettei mene ihan blogisurffailuksi =).

There is a virtual craftmeeting at Muffins verden -blog which I thought to attend. I hope I manage to stitch something instead of surfing in the internet to visit other participants blogs.

I didn't finish this project last year but I think I finish this one before I start thos wolf projects.

Voi veljet, ei kun sisaret, mikä yllätys kolahti tänään postilaatikkoon. Ritva Oups:ista lähetti tällaisen lankaroskiksen. Siis aivan ihana! Mukana oli kyllä suklaatakin, mutta se katosi parempiin suihin ennen kuvaushetkeä =). Ritva tämä todellakin piristi päivääni.

Looks what a surprise I got from Ritva who is a member of the Oups-group. I got " a trash bin" for thread ends. It is gorgeous! And I can put scissors unedr the flower. I did get some chocolate too but it disappeared before I managed to take a photo of it. =)

On vähän pistelyinto kateissa ja joulukiireitäkin tietty. Tässäpä päivitystä kissatyöhön ja kuten kuvasta näkyy se ei ole edennyt minnekään. Laitanpa lisäksi kuvan kehotädeille tehdyistä joulukorteista. Niistä olikin jo kuvaa tuolla stitch-a-thon sivuilla, mutta tässä ihan valmiit kortit.

I have lost my stitcing mood and of course there is also all kinds of things that I need to do befoere Christmas. Here is an update to the cat project and as you can see I haven't stitched it much. Here is also a pic of the Christmas cards that I did for ladies who work at the nursery group. I did show pics of these at the stitch-a-thon-blog but here are the finished cards.

I have stitched secret projects so I haven't been able to udate my blog. But now I stitch something that is public =). This project is DMC kit called Fishing? It is the third one that I'm doing from this series. Previously I have stitched projects called Cat mint and Suntime snooze.

These backstitches progress slowly but these are fun to stitch. At this point you are going to realize what each colorspot is going to be.

Now I have done all the cross-stitches to the rocket (for example all those browns are done after last update).

Lokakuun ornamentti on ollut jo jonkin aikaa valmis, mutta kuvaan en ole saanut aikaiseksi. Raketistakin tässä pikaisesti otettu huono kuva. Pian (toivottavasti) saan loputkin ristipistot tehtyä ja laitan uuden ja paremman kuvan esille.

This ornament for October has been ready for some time but I haven't taken the photo until now (and I was unable to upload it). Here is also a bad picture of the rocket but soon (I hope) I manage to stitch the last cross-stitches and I'll take a better photo of it before I start the backstitching.

Voin kuvitella itseni etsimässä hiekkalaatikolla kaatuneita helmiä =)

How have I let myself to start two new projects. The first pic is from Amanda Loverseed's Cut thru' rocket and the other one is Mill Hill's buttons and beads kit. I have tried to take the Cut thru project with me where ever I may go but it is a bit too big project to take with me. The other one is smaller but it has the beads in it. I can imagine myself crawling on the ground searching for the lost beads.

Tuo Tikru tuli viimeisteltyä SAT-viikonlopun merkeissä. Osallistuin Lennun synttärilahjaylläriin pistelemällä tuon kesymmän kisun. Lennun blogissa kuvia sitten koko peitosta.

I finished the Tigger this weekend which was a SAT weekend. I also participated into the birthdaysurprise for Lennu and stitched the milder cat. There are more pics of the whole blanket in Lennu's blog.

My little (she says that she is big already) daughter wanted this ornament. The red thread that I used is actually the hand dyed thread that was mentioned in the chart. Thank you Shirley for getting the thread for me.

Surprise, surprise, I'm currently stitching the autumn from the Winnie the Pooh calendar.

This was quick to stitch. The quarter stitches didn't bother at all cause I stitched this on evenweave.

Hi hii, vihdoin minäkin sain oman syysvaihtoni Katilta. Ensimmäisessa kuvassa on lahjat eli kangasta, DMC:n pellavalankoja ja kaunis kortti. Toisessa kuvassa on sitten Katin pistelemä kaunis syksyinen taulu. Tuo pieni täytetty sydän oli ihana yksityiskohta ja ihan uusi idea minulle. Kiitos Kati ihanasta paketista!

Finally I got my part of the autumn exchange from Kati. In the first picture there are the gifts that were in the package: fabric, DMC's linen threads and a beautiful card. In the second pic you can see the beautiful stitched wall hanger that Kati made for me. I like the little stuffed heart that was attached with a button. Thank you Kati for a lovely exchange.

The summer is over but along this project I can sigh for last summer. The text above the Winnie the Pooh means summer in Finnish.

I got this beautiful card from Ritva that my package in the autumn exchange has arrived.

I did a small bag for Ritva with autumn leaves. On the other side there is a letter R with autumn leaves.

Ornamentti SALiin pistelin SAT-viikonloppuna Minnit. Näitä oli pakko tehdä kaksi, mutta toinen on sen verran erilainen, että kankaana on Sugar maple fabricsin lugana opalescent gelati ja riitahan siitä sitten tuli, että kuka sen saa...  Kiitos kaikille edelliseen postaukseen kommentoineille. I stitched these Minnies for ornament SAL on SAT-weekend. I had to stitch two of these but the other one is slightly different cause it is done on Sugar maple fabrics opalescent lugana called gelati. And now the girls are figting who is the one who gets that one... Thank you all who commented on my last post. It was interesting to read your memories but there is still room for comments =).

I have wathched some olympics and stitched too. I hope I don't make too much mistakes though I haven't had to be very excited for Finnish athletes except in the trap finals =)

Look how beautiful wall hanging I got from Jaana today. It is done by decoupage technique. I love it. Is it Christmas already? =) Sorry for a bad photo but it is so dark weather today that it is impossible to take deasent photos. I couldn't take the photo with the flash light cause the area with the napkin in it reflected the light too much.

Now I'm working on the second horse from the Permin of Copenhagen. I  think this is the autumn horse if the first one I did was a summer horse.

Tämän kesäiseltä Norjan reissulta tarttui tuliaisiksi tämä seinävaate. Oli nopea pistellä ja suunnittelijakin on ihan norjalainen. Valmistaja on BMB Håndarbeider ja suunnittelija on Berit Stople. Norjalaisia malleja ja suunnittelijoita olen etsinyt jo jonkin aikaa, mutta niitä on ollut vaikea löytää. Vinkkejä otetaan vastaan =). John Claytonilla on Internationals -sarjassa malli Taste of Norway ja sen aion joskus vielä pistellä, vaikka kyllä Norjasta varmaan kauniimpiakin maisema-aiheita olisi löytynyt.

I bought this kit as a souvenier from my journey to Norway this summer. This was fun and quick to stitch and the designer is Norwegian too. The manufacturer of this kit is BMB Håndarbeider and the designer is Berit Stople. I have been searching for Norwegian designs and designs of Norway for some time now and those are pretty hard to find. Is there anyone who could give me hints of designs from Norway or designs of Norway? I know that John Clayton has designed a chart called a Taste of Norway and it is in his International series. I'm going to stitch that one day though there would have been a lot of prettier landsceps to be designed into cross-stitch in Norway.

Jaana, kyselit tuota ilves mallia. Voi olla vähän hankala hankkia, sillä se on tuliainen Moskovasta. Minulla on se malli kyllä tuolla vaihtolistalla, että se kyllä joutaa, jos olet kiinostunut. Ja muillekin tiedoksi, että mielelläni vaihdan noita malleja pois tuolta kaapista pyörimästä. Toivelistani on täällä, mutta toki voi muutakin tarjota vaihdossa =).

I have the patterns that I have stitched for trade in here if you haven't noticed. I rarely stitch something twice. I have also a wishlist in here but I can trade for other stuff as well if you are interested about something from my stash.

The badgers were nearly finished when I posted the last picture and now that design is done. I have also stitched the Christmas ornament for July. I think I have to reseve one week in December to finish all these ornaments.

I was in a cross-stitch meeting organised by OUPS. On Saturday we exchanged the heart exchange and here is a picture of the wallhanging that I got. It is gorgeous. Thank you Anne! There was all kinds of wonderful gifts in the package but I didn't took pictures of them. I'm sure you'll going to see those gifts in my blog later (except the candies lol).

I spent couple of days in Naantali but now I'm home again. When I got home a package from Leena was waiting for me. There is more pics of the package in Leena's blog. The chocolate is missing from my pic - oops where did it dissapear. The package contained everything that stitcher could hope - 3 pieces of lovely hand-dyed fabrics, magazine full of charts, threads and something to eat too. The card is lovely and there is a text Wishing you a pur-fect day. Thank you Leena!

This sleepy kitten is now ready. The beads aren't as neatly as I was hoping them to be cause those weren't exactly in the same place as the cross-stitches underneath them.

This lighthouse scene is a design from Dimensions. I have stitched this in the car and it was a quick project since the background is done with halfstitches.

Here is a card for the wedding which was kept last weekend. I reduced radically the amount of threads in the cat project =).

Eipä tullut kauheasti pisteltyä viime viikonloppuna. Autossa istuin kuskina ja kyydissä, joten valitsin SAT työksi autossa lojuneen pistelyn. Suurinpiirtein nuo ruskeat kohdat tein ja jälkipistot. En jaksanut ruveta pesemään ja silittämään työtä vielä, kun pyykkiä on muutenkin. Harmi, ettei tuossa kamerakännykässä ole silitysrautaa... *vinkki sinne Nokian kehitysyksikölle*

I didn't stitch much last weekend though it was a SAT weekend. I sat in the car as a driver and passanger so I chose the "car project" to be stitched. I stitched approximately the browns and backstitches. I didn't wash and iron the project yet cause I have enough laundry to deal with right now. What a shame that my cameraphone doesn't have also an iron it... *little hint for the development department in Nokia*

Tässäpä viime viikolla valmistunut neulatyyny, joka matkasi kiitokseksi Norjaan. Tässä kuussa sain ajoissa valmiiksi kuukausittaisen joulukoristeenkin. Käytin sellaista karvalankaa joulupukin hihansuissa. Ehkäpä tuosta lähikuvasta saa vähän paremman käsityksen. Ja olen edelleen ihan ällistynyt kuinka tarkkoja kuvia saan tuolla Nokian puhelimella otettua =).

Here is a pincushion that I stitched last week. It was sent to Norway as a thank you. I'm also in time to post a pic of this month's Christmas ornament. I used a fluffy thread to add something extra to the Santa Claus. I'm still amased how delicate pics I'm able to take with my Nokia phone.

Aloitin tämän jo aikoja sitten, kun sain merirosvolaivan valmiiksi. Tämä työ on yläkerrassa käsityönäni ja saattaa mennä viikkokin etten tee pistoakaan. Ehkä tästä jo saa vähän käsitystä mitä tuleman pitää.

I haven't shown you this yet. I started this ages ago when I finished the pirateship. This is my stitching project in upstairs. It can take a week that I don't do any stitches to this. But maybe you already can figure out what this is going to be.

Last week was "skiing holiday" in our area and I didn't use it totally on skiing. Here is a picture of what I did.

Tässä on ollut kaikenlaista tietokoneongelmaa ja sairautta, mutta vihdoin ja viimein pääsin koneelle.Tässä on viimeisin valmistunut työ. Malli on ikivanhasta Cross Stitch Crazy lehdestä. Ei ollut ihan minun lempiaiheita tämä =), mutta onneksi valmistui nopeasti.

Ensi vuonna ajattelin pistellä ainoastaan susitauluja, jote tänä vuonna pitäisi urakoida kortteja myös ensi vuoden tarpeisiin (ellei sitten jolle kulle voi lähettää susikortteja). Tässä on ensimmäinen kortti tälle vuodelle - äidille on menossa äitienpäiväksi.

We have had flu and computer problems but finally I managed to get here. Here is the latest design that I stitched. The design is from an old Cross Stitch Crazy magazine. This wasn't my favorite theme to stitch but luckily it was quick to stitch.

Next year I planned to stitch only wolves so this year I have to stitch cards for next year too (unless I manage to stitch wolf cards to someone's birthday). Here is first card that I did but this is for Mother's Day in May.

Vihdoin ja viimein sain (toivottavasti) kaikki jälkipistot tehhtyä. Pitäisi kai tarkistaa, että kaikki tuli varmasti tehtyä =) , mutta ei tee mieli ihan heti tutkailla noita jälkipistoja.

Finally I managed to stitch (hopefully) all backstitches. Maybe I should check that I didn't miss any but I don't feel like watching it for a couple of days.

Ja näin valmistui ensimmäinen joululahja =). Tokihan tämä vaatii  vielä kehykset ja emmehän sitä kerro, että piti olla valmis jo muutama joulu sitten...

And here is the first Christmas present for this year. It needs to be framed though and we don't tell anyone that this was ment to be finished several Christmases ago...

Here are the last finishes for 2007. I tried to post these earlier but I had some problems with the internet. In the first picture there is the End of the busy day and on the second one a card that I made for wishing good luck to new home.

This is the smaller secret project which I finished some time ago. I need to frame it again though.

Nyt on tämäkin urakka valmis. Nämä talot olivat kyllä kivoja pisteltäviä.

Now is this project finished too. These houses were fun to stitch.

Pistelin tämän nyt kuitenkin valmiiksi, vaikka valkeaa lankaa tulikin jo =). Oli niin pienestä enää kiinni. Tykkään tästä kovasti, vaikka en ennen noista talomalleista niin piitannutkaan - näin sitä mieli muuttuu. Ja mukavia muistoja tulee mieleen tätä katsellessa =) *vilkutuksia Ouluun*.

I finished this even though I got the white thread that I needed. I like this really really much though I didn't care much about house designs before - nowdays I do. I have plenty of nice memories connected to this design *waving to Oulu*

Viime viikonloppuna tuli pisteltyä ihan urakalla migreenistä ja siivouspäivistä huolimatta. Tässä kuva tuotoksesta. Siivoustuloksista ei tule kuvaa, koska on ihan turha toivoa, että siivouksen jäljet näkyisivät enää! =)

Last weekend I stitched quite a lot despite of my migrane and cleaning the house. Here is a picture of my stitching.

Tässä yhteiskuva joulukoristeista. Yritin kyllä yksittäinkin ottaa kuvaa, mutta kamera ei suostunut yhteistyöhön ja tuli ihan epätarkkoja kuvia. Yritän saada sitten vaikka tuonne webshotsivuille yksittäiset kuvat, kunhan jaksan ruveta säheltämään tuon kameran kanssa.

Here is a photo of all Christmas ornaments that I finished. I tried to take individual pics but the photos were so blurry that I couldn't use them. Maybe I try with better luck later and put the individula pics to my webshots.

Viime sunnuntaina annoin tämän lahjan omistajalleen ja koska lahjansaaja taitaa lukea blogiani paljastan kuvan vasta nyt =). Äidin kortti ja yksi salainen kortti valmistuivat, joten voin listaltani kaksi työtä pyyhkäistä yli =).

Last Sunday this picture got a new owner and since the receiver might read my blog I reveal the pic now =). I also finished the card for my mom and one secret card so there is to projects that I can cross off from my list now =).

Tästä tulee jättisuuri ja epäilen saanko koskaan valmiiksi. Ensin ajattelin valmistumisaikatauluksi noin viittä vuotta, mutta en kyllä tätä vauhtia saa sitä valmiiksi kymmenessäkään vuodessa. Tätä en ole pistellyt aikoihin. Tämä on myös yksi salaisia projekteja, mutta eipä tästäkään saa vielä mitään selkoa mitä tästä lopulta tulee.

This is the huge project which I doubt I'll never finish. First I calculated that I finish it in 5 years but with this speed it takes more likely 10. I haven't stitched this for ages. This is one of the secret projects as well but I dare to show it now cause this doesn't look much anything right now.

This I planned to stitch for a Christmas present couple of years ago.

Päivän WIP on Norjasta ostamani malli Bergenin Bryggen (linkki on kuvaan oikeasti sieltä Bryggeniltä ei suinkaan siitä miltä työ tulee näyttämään). Tämä oli ihan pakko aloittaa nyt, että saan hauskimman lomamatkani muistoksi jonkin taulun seinälle. Kiitos matkaseuralle =) ! Q-snapsien ympärille laitoin ILCS-ryhmän salaisen ystävän lähettämät q-snaps huggersit. Näitä huggerseja valmistaa Kim ja niiden tehtävä on suojella pisteltävää kangasta likaantumiselta. Ja vielä yksi kuva saksikoristeesta, jonka sain samaiselta SS:ltä tänään. =) Mitenkäs nuo lahjat ovatkin noin vihreitä =) =)

Today's WIP is a kit that I bought from Norway. It's a design from Bergen's Bryggen ( the link shows you a photo of the real Bryggen not the finished project). I had to start this cause I wanted to get a memory of the most wonderful holiday trip. Thank you to my travelling companion =) ! Around the q-snaps I have the q-snaps huggers made by Kim sent to my by the SS from ILCS. And the other pic is the scissor fob that I received from the same SS =). Really pretty and a wonderful color choices in both gifts =) =).

Esittelen nyt 2 keskeneräistä työtä, koska kortti on menossa yhdelle lukijoistani =). Toinen työ on talo SAL. Mallit ovat Marysen blogista. Marraskuun talokin on jo ilmestynyt, että ehkä pitäisi pistellä se.

Tässä uusi WIP lisää. Tämä on ollut autokäsityönä. Tämä on hiukan salainen projekti, joten tästä ei ehkä enempää edistymiskuvia tule ennen kuin sitten on saajallaan. Ei tästä kamalasti näy nytkään mitään, kun on vain valkealla pistelty valkealle =).

Here is one WIP more. This project travels in our car. This is a bit secret project so you probably won't see it until it's finished. You won't be able to see much of it now either cause so far I have only stitched some white stitches on white linen.

Yksi ihan pikkiriikkisen aloitetuista löydöksistä oli Lynn's Prints'in malli End of a busy day. Tämä on tosi söötti malli. Enkä kyllä yhtään osaa selittää miksi tykkään amish-tyylisistä töistä. Yhtään en ole vielä näitä pistellyt, mutta tämä on ehkä se ensimmäinen.

One of the little bit started projects is Lynn's Prints chart End of a busy day. This pattern is so cute. I don't have no idea why I like these amish-designs. I haven't stitched any of these yet but maybe this is the first one.

Tässä yksi keskeneräisistä projekteista. Vuotuiset joulukoristeet. Puuttuvat helmet ja langat saapuivat torstaina, joten kaipa nämä voisi jo askarrella loppuun.

My yearly Christmas ornaments is one of the projects that are waiting to be done. I got the missing threads and beads on Thursday so now I can finish these.

Siivoilin eilen kaappeja ja kylläpä kannattikin. Olen ihan luullut, että pääasiassa yksi työ on kesken + ehkä yläkerrassa joku ja autossa kolmas. Kaappien kätköistä löytyi 13 eriasteisesti pisteltyä projektia. Haluaisitteko nähdä mitä kaikkea löysin? Tässä kuitenkin päivitystä kissaprojektiin - elokuun kisu.

I was clening the cabinets and it was worthwhile to do so. I thought that I have approximately one main project that I stitch at a time + probably one in upstairs and one in the car. I found 13 projects that I have started. Some of them had only couple of stitches though. Would you like to see what I found.  Anyway here is update to my calendar cats - August cat.

Löysin Effulin planeetalta linkin tällaiseen systeemiin. Vaikka mikään löydöksistäni ei ole UFO - vakaa aikomukseni on ne pistellä valmiiksi, niin kokeilen kuinka tämä toimii. Pistelen siis jokaista työtä 10 tuntia ja sitten saan luvan aloittaa uuden. Paitsi, että pakko on aloittaa kerhotätien ja opettajien kortit heti kunhan löydän sopivan mallin.

I found from Effuli's planet this system how to reduce UFO's. These projects aren't actually UFO's cause I intend to stitch them. Anyway I stitch each project 10 hours and then I'm able to add one project to my list. The exception is that I need to start Christmas cards to teachers as soon as I find suitable design .

Sorruin taas osallistumaan PIF-kierrokselle. En voinut vastustaa kiusausta, kun löytyi norjalainen blogi pay it forward-haasteella =). Eli 3 ensimmäistä, jotka ilmoittautuvat blogiini saavat jotain itsetehtyä. En tiedä mitä ja milloin, mutta vuoden sisällä kuitenkin. Ja mukava olisi jos vähän mainitsisit mistä tykkäät...

Sain tämän mallin äidiltäni (en ole yllytyksestä huolimatta saanut häntä pistelemään mitään) ja se oli melko nopsasti pistelty. Piti vain saada välillä jotain valmiiksi asti. Askartelin siitä sitten tällaisen kortin. Olisiko vähän mautonta palauttaa se joulupostina takaisin? =)

I got this chart from my mom (I haven't got her into stitching though I have tried) and it was rather quick to stitch. I just needed something to be finished for a while. I finished it into a card. Would it be tasteless to send it back as a Christmas card?

Anteeksi vain pitkä tauko =). Nyt on yhteydet kunnossa ja voi tätä riemua, kun ei tarvitse puolta päivää odottaa kuvien latautumista! Nytpä luvassa sitten aimo annos kuvia teidän iloksi =). I'm sorry for a long break in blogging =). Now our connections are working and I'm thrilled because I don't have wait hours to get pics uploaded. Now I can show you loads of pics =). Thank you all for your comments about the Lickle ted. I think the teddy can keep his mouth =). Next project is Margaret Sherry's calendar cats. By accident I got aidafabric with this kit. I don't recommend anyone to stitch this on aida. The project is full of horizontal and vertical stitches that splits the aidablocks. I don't know if all M. Sherrys (or Heritage Stitchcrafts) designs uses these stitches - ugh. The aidafabric and those stitches are the reason why this project nearly became an UFO. Now I decided to stitch this. Here is the May cat.

Hieman haikein mielin viimeistelin tämän matkakäsityöni. Se kun oli mukana mitä ihanimmalla kesälomareissulla Norjaan (vaikken sitä Norjassa pistellytkään). Alkuperäisessä mallissa nallella ei ole suuta, mutta näyttääkö se vähän orvolta suuttomana? Kokeilin pistellä jonkinlaisen suun ja nyt kysyisinkin mitä mieltä olette kumpi on parempi?

I'm a bit sad to finish this travelproject. It was with me (and my sister) when I did the most wonderful journey to Norway (though I didn't stitch it in Norway). In the original pattern the bear doesn't have a mouth but does he look like he is missing something? I tried to backstitch somekind of mouth and now I want to hear your opinnion which one is better?

Here is the chart that I received today from my SS. Thank you so much. There is 6 different charts in it and I could stitch all of them one day. I like especially the wolf (surprise, surprise) and the bear in the front cover.

Finally this lady is ready. I don't have any practice in cording and tassels but I'm too tired to fix them anymore. I hope my sister likes it. I have to check this properly in case if I missed any stitches.

En ihan kasvoja ehtinyt saada valmiiksi, sillä keskityin taustan lehvästön jälkipistoihin. Rakas siskoni on tulossa ehkä viikonloppuvierailulle, joten pitää laittaa työ piiloon siksi aikaa.

I didn't manage to stitch the face this week because I tried to get the backstitching finished with the background hanging leaves. My dear sister is probably coming for a visit so I have to hide this lady for the weekend.

Olen pistellyt vaihtelun vuoksi hieman jälkipistoja ja ristipistojakin sinne sun tänne. Chiloen pyynnöstä aloitin kasvoja. Ei kovin kaunis näky (vielä) ja neito olisi kelvannut vaikka kauhuelokuvan tähdeksi siinä vaiheessa, kun silminä oli vain yhdet mustat ristipistot. Nyt hän näyttää ainoastaan sairaalta.

I have stitched some backstitches for a exchange and few cross-stitches here and there. For Chiloe's request I started her face too. Not very pretty sight (yet). She would have been chosen into a leading role in the horror movie at that point when she had only black cross-stitches as her eyes but now she looks only sick.

I got bored on my project and you can see it from the progress pic. I do all kinds of stuff if I have a spare moment than cross-stitching. I got a wonderful return present from Mari in crazy exchange. Go to look at it.=)

Oli ihan pakko vähän pistellä tuota taustaa ettei jää kokonaan viimeiseksi pisteltäväksi. Tausta on suurimmaksi osaksi pistelty puolipistoilla ja uskokaa tai älkää sävyjä on useampi kuin yksi.

I had to stitch some of the background already cause I don't want to stitch it all at the same. The background is mainly done by halfstitches and believe it or not there is used more than one color.

Tuli vähän kiirus näiden korttien kanssa ja vielä pitäisi lisääkin väkertää, ettei isoa projektia tarvitsisi kauheasti keskeyttää. Ensimmäinen kortti on uuteen kotiin. Savukiehkuroista muodostuu muuttajien nimet. Sitten onkin muutama vauvakortti - niitä on mukava pistellä, kun ei muuten tule oikein noita vauvajuttua tehtyä. Lisääntykää ihmiset =)

I was in a hurry to finish these cards and I still need to stitch few more so I wouldn't have to stitch cards during bigger projects. The first card is for the people who are moving. The smoke from the chimney forms the names of the people who are moving. Then there is few cards for babies that are going to be born. It is nice to stitch for babies for a while since I rarely stitch babythemes otherwise. Make more babies!

Käsityömessuilta Violariumilta ostin aikoinaan tämän kirjanmerkkikitin. Kirjanmerkki rassu on odottanut ensin ompelemista ja sitten tupsua melkeinpä vuoden. Nyt sitten sain aikaiseksi... =) *nolo* Kehtaa laittaa jo kuvankin. Kirjanmerkki on Le Bonheur des Dames'in ja nimeltään Médiéval. Tässä oli niin kauniit värit, että sen takia tämän hommasin.

I bought this kit from the craftshow (nothing compared to British or French craft shows LOL) from Violarium's  booth. The poor bookmark waited almost a year first to be sewn and then for the tassel. Finally I managed to make it... =) *shame me* Now I dare to publish the pic. The bookmark is designed by Le Bonheur des Dames and it's name is Médiéval. I liked the pretty colors of this design and that's the reason why I bought it.

Tämän viikkoisesta edistymisestä saamme kiittää tuota ah niin ihanaa aamujemme sulostuttajaa - käpytikkaa. Ilmeisesti ilman puolisoa jäänyt käpytikka on keksinyt nakuttaa vesikourujamme niin että koko talo kaikaa. Useana aamuna on konsetti alkanut noin klo 5. Siinä sitten on miehen kanssa kilvan juostu pihalla hätyyttämässä otusta pois, ettei koko lapsilauma pomppaa hereille. Jos tästä nyt jotain positiivista hakemalla hakee niin onpahan tullut pisteltyä. Mitä nyt välillä pitää juoksennella kartanolla käpytikan perässä.

Thanks to this weeks progress goes to a woodpecker. The woodpecker has probably been left without a partner so he started knocking our gutters. He usually starts at 5 am. Me and my husband has been trying to make him stop before he wakes up all our kids. If I try to find something positive from this is that I have had loads of tim  to stitch. With some interruptions caused by the woodpecker though.

Yleensä käytän vain yhtä neulaa, mutta varalla on jossain projektin reunassa toinen neula, jos alkuperäinen hukkuu. En ole koskaan jokaiselle värille "ladannut" neulaa - tarvitsisi ehkä sellaisen pako organizer:in ja lapsien täytyisi olla jo rippikouluiässä... Usein käytän mahdollisimman pieniä neuloja ja niitä on aina jokunen varastossa (olivatkohan kokoa 28). Käytän samaa neulaa niin kauan, että se menee poikki =)

How many needles do you use during a project? Have you ever loaded up a needle for every color? Do you use a new needle for every project or recycle your favorite needle?

Usually I use only one needle but just in case I loose it I have a spare needle in the edge of my project if I loose the original. I haven't tried to load needle for every color - I think I should need the Pako organizer for that and all kids shold be over age of 16...  Usually I like to use small needles (I think the size was 28) and I always have them at home. I use one needle as long as it is not broken =).

Tänään saapui postissa kaksi mukavaa lähetystä... Ensimmäisestä kirjekuoresta paljastui 2 mukavaa kangasta toinen oli polstitches:iltä ja toinen zweigartin lugana 25 ct ja sävy peruna (olipas hauska nimi), rasia mill hillin helmiä ja wisperin lankaa. Tuosta langasta saa ihanan turkin, jollekin eläimelle! Ja vaihtoparikseni paljastui Helena. Kiitos - oli mukava saada postia sinulta =). Enkä kyllä arvannut epäillä sinua parikseni =).

Toinen kirjekuori tuli Shirleyltä. Hän toimi välikätenä Secret Sister vaihdossa. Kuoressa oli kaksi Linda Myersin mallia Autumn at sinking creek ja After the rain ja ilmaismalli Little house needleworksilta! Kiitos salaiselle siskolleni! =)

Today I got two nice envelopes from mail. The first envelope contained two pieces of fabric one from Polstitches and other was Zweigart's 25 ct lugana shade Potato (what a fun name for the colour), box of Mill Hill beads and a thread from Whisper. You can stitch nice fur for some animal from that thread! My partner in this exchange was Helena. Thank you - you have been a great partner =). I didn't guess you were my partner in this exchange.

The other envelope came from Shirley. Shirley sent it for me from behalf of my SS. In the envelope were two Linda Myers charts Autumn at sinking creek and after the rain and a complimentary chart from Little house needleworks! Thank you to my SS - the charts are great and thank you Shirley!

Nyt ei työ paljoa edennyt, kun menin tekemään virheen ja piti purkaa melkoisesti. Melkein koko viikon edistyminen on kahteen kertaan pisteltyä. En viitsinyt ruveta "piilottamaan" virhettä, kun työ on näinkin pitkälle jo edennyt ilman suurempia mokia. Neljäsosapistojen purkaminen on kyllä sitten ihan vihonviimeistä puuhaa... ja niistä jää rumat jäljet aidaan.

Now I haven't managed to stitch a lot or that is how it seems. Almost all this weeks progress is stitched twice. I had to too loads of unpicking. I didn't want to "hide" the mistake since the project is so near to end and so far I haven't done any major mistakes. I hate to unpick the quarter stitches - they leave ugly marks on the aida.

Finnish SRPY exchange partner sent this delicious package (the kids have already eaten most of the candies though so I have to be quick if I want save some). And all those curious who wants to know the fabric is Silkweaver's Jungle Boogie 28 ct lugana. It looks so pretty that I wonder how I dare to stitch something on it!

Auto kortti on pikkumiehelle, joka tykkää traktoreista, rekoista, mottooripyöristä, kaivinkoneista, trukeista... missä vaan on moottori. Kyytiin ei niinkään ole innostunut menemään, mutta kaikki pörisevät vehkeet saavat osakseen ihailua ja auta armias, jos et kommentoi ohi pyyhältävää traktoria ---> kriisi.

Lintukortti lennähtää vakavasti sairaalle pikkutytölle.

The card with the lorry is for a little boy who loves tractors, trucks, motorbikes, excavators, forklift trucks.. anything with an engine in it. He doesn't want to drive them but all machines that makes noice are admired and if you don't comment anything when a tractor passes by ----> crises.

Tämän kysymyksen on esittänyt Kathryn ja kysymys kuuluu näin: Montako työtä sinulla on tekeillä ja montako UFO:a (keskeneräisiä töitä) sinulla on? Milloin tekeillä oleva työsi muuttuu UFO:ksi?

Minulla on yleensä tekeillä ainakin kolme työtä, yläkerrassa, alakerrassa ja autossa. Joskus joitain pieniä kortteja tms. lisäksi. Nyt ei oikeastaan ole kuin tuo Host of poppies ja autossa on aloitettu DMC:n Farmyard friends, mutta siitä kuvia joskus myöhemmin, kunhan on vähän autoiltu mieheni kanssa (jos olen yksin lasten kanssa en luonnollisestikaan pistele - heh heh)... Minulla ei ole UFOja, paitsi yksi siskoni vanha kuultokudos, johon en ole saanut vieläkään lankaa - yritetty on. Työ muuttuu silloin mielestäni UFO:ksi kun sitä ei pysty tai ei halua saada valmiiksi.

Usually I have three WIPs - one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the car - occasionally also small projects like cards etc. Now I have one major project and that is the Host of poppies. I have also the Farmyard friends in the car by DMC but it needs more driving with my husband so I could show you a picture =) (I can't stitch and drive LOL). I have one UFO but actually it is my sisters. I haven't managed to get threads for it (it ain't cross-stitch). My opinnion about UFO is a project that you can't or don't want to finish.

Toukokuussa tarvitsen paljon kortteja ja korttipula pääsi vähän yllättämään. Tällaisia sitten kiireessä väsäsin. Kaikki kortit ovat Quick & Easy Stitch & Craft -lehdestä nro 152. Lintukortit ovat syntymäpäiväkortteja ja kukkakortit ovat mummolleni ja mieheni mummolle äitienpäiväkortteja.

I need several cards in May and I ran out of cards. I had to stitch quickly more. These cards I stitched in a hurry from the Quick and Easy Stitch and Craft magazine issue 152. The birdcards were birthdaycards and the flowercards are for my grandmother and my husband's grandmother for Mother's Day.

Vähän vaihtelua tuohon unikkotyöhön kaivattiin ja mieluummin jotain joka valmistuisikin ihan järkevässä ajassa. Tämä Lanarten punarinta oli oikein sopiva "välipala".

I needed some exchange from the Host of poppies and I preferred something that I would manage to finish in rather short time. This robin from Lanarte was really perfect project for that purpose.

Eivätkö nämä rasiat olekin aivan ihania? Harmi, ettei nätiä saa Suomesta. Hei hei sisko, tässäpä oivallinen lahjavinkki =). Ja lisää rasioita löytyy täältä.

Satu A: orvokkikortti oli kylkiäisenä lehden mukana ja se korttipohja tuli valmiina myös.

Paula: Olen laitatuttanut tauluihini mattalasin - kirkas lasisia tauluja on melko hankala ripustaa, kun aina niistä näkyy vain jonkun ikkunan tai lampun peilikuva. Kehystäjä kyllä viimeksi mainitsi, että lasien tukkuhinnat ovat viime aikoina nousseet rutkasti ja tuo kirkas lasi olisi kyllä huomattavasti halvempaa, joten en tiedä mitä tulevaisuudessa teen...

Ulla: Kehystytän tauluni Itä-Suomessa samalla, kun käy morjestamassa vanhempiani. On mieluinen kehystäjä ja edullinen (verrattuna näihin paikallisiin) ja valikoimaakin on.

Sain pari taulua kehystäjältä takaisin. Kuvat ei oikein onnistuneet, mutta en nyt jaksanut ruveta enempää sähläämään niiden kanssa.

Voitin Tuulan blogiarvonnassa ja tällainen paketti saapui tänään. Aivan ihana saksikoriste ja suklaata. Tuula, kateellisena katselen ranskalaisia solmujasi - ne ovat taidetta. Suklaa saapui sopivasti, kun tuo pikkumies on kuumeessa - saa vähän piristystä päivään. Kiitos ihanasta paketista!

I won in a lottery in Tuula's blog. The prize arrived today. Here is a pic of the goregous scissorfob and chocolate that I received. Tuula, I envy your french knots - those are pure art. The chocolate arrived just perfect for my little son who is in fever. Thank you so much for the marvellous parcel.

Olen noin kuukauden nyt pistellyt tätä työtä. Rupesi tökkimään aika pahasti tuon lankasotkun jälkeen. Minulla ei ole edes Anchorin lankakorttia - oli ihan arvalla järjestettävä nuo langat =(. Hitaasti edistyypi nyt...

I have been stitching this project about one month. I'm not so thirlled to stitch it after kids messed the threads. I don't even know if those are sorted right since I don't have a threadcard for Anchor =(. This is progressing sooo slowly now...

I stitched this Easter bunny fast so I could hang it already for this Easter. Thank you Tinna for the kit =)

Ja seuraavaksi horro-kuvaa näystä, jonka kohtasin tänä aamuna. Joku lapsista (epäilyksen kohteena lähinnä tuo neiti 2 v) on eilen illalla harjoitellut saksimista. Onneksi ei ihan pientä silppua tullut  (toisin kuin isonveljen käsittelyssä kerran) ja pari lankaa viekä roikkuu lankakortissakin, mutta onhan tässä setvimistä - huoh. Ja luojankiitos keskeneräinen työ ei rei'ittynyt.

And next picture is pure horror  that I  saw this morning. One of my kids (under suspection is the 2 year old) had pracitced with my scissors. Luckily she didn't cut the threads in inch pieces like her big brother did once and few threads even stayed in thread card. I have plenty of work to sort these threads again. Thank God she didn't get her hands into the stitched piece.

I read mostly blogs that has cross-stitching in them. I like to see photos of WIP's and stash. I have found many new designers and designs by seeing what others have bought or got in exchange. My wishlist is expanding rapidly =). I also like to see wonderful finishings - maybe I dare to try something new too one day. My blog ain't perfect at all. I wish I would be able to update my blog more and write longer stories but at the moment I don't have enough hours in my day to do so. The thing that I would change would be that everyone would be able to leave a comment. Often I wait really long (our modem is slooow) the comment box to appear only to notice that only bloggers (or whatever) are able to leave a comment.

Mia's daughter is in hospital and I'm going to send her this card with get better soon wishes.

Yllätyskutsu 50-vuotispäiville ---> hommiin siis ja tämmöinen sitten on tulos.

Viikon pistelykysymys kuuluu, kuinka käyttäisin 500 dollaria, jos sellaisen summan saisin törsätä. Jos ihan pistelytarvikkeita pitäisi hankkia, niin varmaan toivelistaani lyhentäisin. Jos ihan mitä vain voisi ostaa, niin ostaisin nojatuolin  - sellaisen äidin ikiomanpaikan, jota kukaan ei saisi töhriä mustikkakäsin, eikä sinne saisi puklata eikä kaataa kaakaota.

Slainen ristipistoystäväkin muisti. Alku viikosta tuli jo paketti Violariumista ja se sisälsi kaksi tokkaa aivan ihanaa käsinvärjättyä lankaa ja pätkän pellavanauhaa. Tänään postilaatikosta löytyi ihana kortti, jossa toivotettiin läjäpäin terveisiä =) Kiitos. Ihania lahjoja, olet löytänyt ja aurinko paistaa niin, että rappusilla voi jo pistellä!

My secret exchange partner from Finnish cross-stich exchange remembered me with the following parcel. I got hand-dyed thread and piece of linen. My partner did some shopping at Violarium. I also got a nice card which reminded me of bright sunny days that are perfect for stitching. Actually the sun has been shining so much that I even stitched outside today for the first time this year.

Halusin yllättää jonkun ja valitsin RAK-rekisteristä tämän blogin. Nickille lähti tällainen neulakotelo. Olen itsekin erittäin tyytyväinen, sillä mielestäni neulakotelosta tuli oikein nätti. Nickin blogista näet myös mitä muuta pientä päätyi pakettiin.

I wanted to surprise someone and I chose Nicki from RAK registry. I stitched a needlecase for Nicki and I'm really pleased how this needlecase turned out - I like it too =). There is also a pic of the small gift I sent with the needlecase in Nicki's blog.

Tämä saksikotelo on matkannut jo uudelle omistajalleen, joten tässä tulee kuvatusta siitä. Kortit eivät ole vielä lähteneet vastaanottajilleen, mutta herrat 1 v. ja 60 v. eivät tiettävästi seuraa blogiani, joten uskallanpa laittaa kuvat heti tuoreeltaan tänne.

Hiihtoloma hurahti mummolassa. Arvatkaa mitä minä tein? Kyllä minä kerran kävin hiihtämässäkin... Kiitosta vain suksilainasta siskolle =).

Kids had a "skiing holiday" from school and we visited my parents. Quess what I did? I did skii once... Thank you for loaning your skiis sister =).

Ja sitten muutama vastaus kysymyksiin...

Sari kysyi, että mitä töilleni tapahtuu. Pääasiassa olen kehystänyt ne ja ovat joko kotini seinillä tai jos lahjaksi ovat menneet niin lahjansaajan seinällä tai komerossa ;).

Satu taas tiedusteli, että miksi aloitan työni tuolta vasemmalta yläkulmasta. En kyllä aina aloitakaan, mutta on aina kiva yrittää mennä rivi kerrallaan (en ole koskaan onnistunut siinä vielä). Lasken mallista sen kulman sijainnin. Olen kokeillut merkata työni langalla, mutta se langan poisnyppiminen jälkikäteen nyppi vähän liikaa. Sitten kokeilin sellaista räätälinliitua, joka oli kynänmallinen, mutta se kynä oli vähän liian pehmeä ja tuli liian leveitä viivoja. Lyijäriäkin kokeilin, mutta se ei lähtenyt pois kankaasta (jälkeä yritin poistaa kaikella muulla mahdollisella paitsi saksilla - kertokaa jos tiedätte mikä tehoaa). Paras tähänastisista kokeiluistani on sellainen vesivärikynä eli kynänmallinen vesiväri. Oiva käyttää esim. aidalle, mutta pellavalle on hankalaa merkata millään muulla kuin tuolla langalla. Yleensä on niin kauhea into aloittaa työ, että tuo kankaan ruuduttaminen tuntuu aivan liian ylivoimaiselta.

Tämän viikon kysymys kuuluu, mitkä ovat suurin ja pienin kankaan tiheys, jolle olet pistellyt? Ja oletko pistellyt yhden langan yli?

Harvin kangas, jollen olen pistellyt on 11 ct aida. Yritin opastaa tytärtäni ristipistojen ihanaan maailmaan - päädyimme kuitenkin kanavatyöhön näin ensi alkuun. Tihein kangas lienee 32 ct pellava. En ole koskaan pistellyt yhden langan yli - olisi kyllä ihan mielenkiintoista kokeilla.

Ja nyt aloitin projektin Host of poppies. Ja tässä on sitten solmupistot ja kaikki =).

What is the smallest count fabric you have ever used? Did you stitch over one? Conversely, what is the largest count fabric you have ever used?

The largest count has been 11 ct aida. I tried to teach my daughter to stitch but we ended up trying petit point instead. The smallest count has been 32 ct linen but I have never stitched over one. I should try to stitch over one though.

And here is my new project. It is Anchor's Host of poppies and it includes french knots too.

Cheryl kysyi mitä aion tehdä tälle kissatyölle. No, 2-vuotias tyttäreni sen halusi, kun näytin vaihtoehtoja, että mitä minä hänelle pistelisin. Toivottavasti ei käy niin kuin kävi nyt 8-vuotiaille pistelemieni tyynyjen kanssa. Olivat ehkä just 2 tai 3, kun kysyin minkä eläimen pistelen tyynyksi. Nyt tämä suoloistakin suloisempi hyljetyyny on vähän liian suloinen ja poika ehdotti, että pikkusisko saisi sen ja pistelisin hänelle uuden. No, tiedä häntä mitä teen - ei oikein innosta se jäykkä kanavatyökangas ja villalangat...

Kiitos päivän nauruista Mustikka =). Onneksi nuo pistellyt kissat ovat parempikäytöksisiä kuin aidot.

Cheryl asked what I'm going to do with the Cat mint pic. My 2 y.o daughter wanted it when I showed her pics of designs that I could stitch for her. I hope she likes it when she is older too. I stitched pillows for my twins who are now 8. Other of them would like to give his pillow to little sister cause he thinks that the cute seal is a bit too cute for him now. He said that I could stitch him a new pillow then... =)

Mustikka assumed that if the cat would have been real it woul have smashed the cat mints - thanks for todays laughs Mustikka! These stitched cats are behaving better than real ones...

Harmi, että tuo nuorimmaiseni oli vielä niin pieni, etten sinne pääse, mutta jos joskus vielä järjestetään tuollainen viikonloppu ja minulla ei ole yhtään imeväistä ja jos vielä lastenhoidon saa järjestymään, niin huivi suorana lähden matkaan =).

No, these are all organised abroad. I have seen ads of these retreats and I would go if someone sends me there. =) In Finland some cross stitchers organised a weekend in a log cabin where they stitched whole weekend. My youngest child was so small that I couldn't leave her but if that kind of weekends are organized so that I won't have any nursing to do and if I manage to arrange someone to babysit I would go.

Kommenteissa vähän kyseltiin, että mikä ihme tuo biscornu oikein on. Nimitys tullennee tuon työn muodosta. Biscornu ommellaan niin, että kaksi neliötä ommellaan yhteen, mutta ompelu aloitetaan niin, että toisen neliön kulma tulee toisen neliön sivun keskelle. Varmasti netistä löytyy ohjeita, vaikka hakusanoilla how to sew biscornu. Mihin tuota sitten käytetään? Itse en ole törmännyt muihin käyttötarkoituksiin kuin saksikoristeeseen ja miksei sitä voi käyttää vaikka neulatyynynäkin. Ehkä enemmän asiasta tietävät voivat jättää kommenttia tännekin?

In the comment section people have asked me what is biscornu. Maybe someone who knows better than me could leave a comment to me but I think the name comes from the shape. The biscornu is sewed so that the two squares are sewn together so that the other squares corner is in the middle of other squares middlepoint in the edge. There are sewing instructions in several places I think so you can google them. What about the purpose of the biscornu then? I have seen these as scissor fobs but why not use it as a pincushion as well. Does anyone know other purposes?

Cindy your package arrived - thank you so much. This is the first birscornu that I have ever had. Kids ate all candy so I couldn't take pics of those at all. Beautiful work Cindy - you could never tell that this is your first biscornu.

Viikon  pistelyaiheinen kysymys kuuluu... Mikä yritys tekee käsinvärjätyistä kankaista suosikkikankaasi and kenen kankaista et pidä? Miksi?

Tähän on aika helppo vastata, että suosikkini on silkweaver, koska muiden kankaita en ole koskaan kokeillut, enkä omistanut. Sugar maple fabricsilla olisi kauniita kankaita myös ja muista en ole edes kuullut.

What company produces your favorite hand-dyed fabric? Are there any
companies whose hand-dyed fabric you do not like? If so, why?

This is rather easy question to answear cause the only hand-dyed fabrics I have ever owned are silkweavers so that is my favorite. I think Sugar maple fabrics has beautiful colours too but those are not sale in Finnish cs-stores. And what comes to other companies - I have never even heard of them.

Kamera on edelleen matkoilla, joten ei päivityksiä Cat mint työhön. Tässä kumminkin kortti joka lähti jo matkaan pienelle päivänsankarille. En kamalasti tykkää noista cover kiteistä missä on osa työstä valmiina tuossa painetussa paspiksessa. Sellainen "taustamaisema" vielä menettelee, mutta onneksi näistä saa ihan kivoja kortteja - ei mene ihan hukkaan nämäkään.

My camera is still on it's journey so I won't update my Cat mint project. Here is a pic of a card that I stitched for a litlle girl for her birthday. I don't like these cover kits where part of the design is stitched and part of it is printed on the passe partout. If there would be a landscape printed for example it would be ok. Luckily these are perfect for cards too so the cover kits won't be wasted.

This card was mada for Finnish cross-stitch groups birhtday exchange. Once again happy birthday Mari!

Ennen joulua sain surullisia uutisia ystävästäni, joka on sairastunut rintasyöpään. Huomenna hänelle lähtee tällainen kortti. Malli on ilmaismalli. Pistelin nauhan "muovikankaalle" ja ompelinpa vielä hakaneulan taustalle, jos ystäväni haluaa myöhemmin kiinnittää sen vaikka laukkuun. Nyt vain sitten toivotaan parasta, että ystäväni jaksaa kamppailla syöpää vastaan.

Before Christmas I got sad news from my friend. She has breast cancer. Tomorrow I'll send her this card. The design is free from here. I stitched the ribbon on plastic canvas and sew a pin into it so if my friend wants she is able to put the ribbon for example into her bag. Now I only hope that my friend has enough strength to fight against this disease.

This is the last posting before Christmas. I don't know if Bob the Builder is finished this year. It seems it won't but that doesn't matter cause I'm not in a hurry with this one.

.. I mean the last project for this year. I think I have enough enthusiasm to continue stitching for the next year too. This is going to be Bob the Builder. Did you know that he has only 4 fingers? In Finland we have a saying that you have a thumb in the middle of the hand if you aren't very talented in crafts. Well Bob the Builder doesn't have the thumb so he can't have it in the middle of the hand maybe that's the reason why he is so good at fixing everything. =)

Finally here is the pirate ship finished.

Salaisessa vaihdossa piti keksiä lahja ihmiselle, joka pitää näistä venäläisistä sisäkkäin menevistä nukeista. Ei misään kaupassa sattunut moista silmään, joten päädyin pistelemään kassin. Ja kuinka ollakaan juuri kun olin asiaa pohtimassa myyntiin tuli Quick and Easy -lehti, jossa oli peräti 4 tällaista nukkemallia! Ensimmäisenä ajtuksena oli pistellä suoraan kassiin - ompelin sen pellavasta, mutta oli niin epäsäännölistä kangasta (ei pistelyyn tarkoitettua), että päädyin waste canvasiin. Ja nätti tuli, vaikka itse sen sanonkin.

In a secret exchange I had to figure out something with a Russian doll. I didn't find any of those dolls anywhere so I had to figure out something else. As I was wondering this problem I noticed a Cross Stitch Quick and Easy mag in the shop and there were 4 patterns of Russian dolls in it! I planned to stitch straight into the bag cause I sewed it from linen but that linen wasn't ment for stitching and it was difficult to stitch so I ended up using waste canvas. Even if I say it myself I like the result. =)

Toivoin, että olisi tällä viikolla jo teille näyttää valmis työ, mutta aina vain pistelen merta. Jospa sitten ensi viikolla.

How do you secure your thread when you begin a new one? Specifically,
do you or have you ever used a waste knot?

I put the thread under the earlier stitches on the back. I recently saw how to use waste knot but haven't tried it. And I love to use loop start if possible.

Eli kysymys kuuluu miten kiinnität langan aloittaessasi ja etenkin oletko käyttänyt tuota "waste knot" -solmua (solmu leikataan pois sitten jälkeenpäin).

Ihan normaalisti pujottelen ne langat pistojen alle siellä takapuolella. Waste knot on aika uusi tuttavuus, mutta en ole käyttänyt sitä. Ja tuo silmukka-aloitus on ihan ehdoton, jos vain mahdollista (jos lanka on lyhyt tai tarvitaan pariton määrä säikeitä niin sitten ei onnistu).

Iris I have stitched something for you alreadey but I need to do something else too so you have to wait a little.

Do you stitch Christmas ornaments? If so, how many do you stitch each year and for whom? If not, why not?

My intetion is to stitch each year new ornament for my kids so when they move out some day they have their own set of Christmas tree ornaments to remind them of their Christmases at home. Each ornament has a name of the owner and the year received on the back (I couldn't remember who had which kind of ornament each year). This year kids have to pick up their favorites from the stitchings I did few years ago - I don't have time to stitch new ones. Earlier kids have chosen their fav designs themselves (at least all of them who are old enough to say their opinnion).

Kysymys kuuluu, pisteletkö joulukuusen koristeita? Jos pistelet, kuinka monta ja kenelle? Ja jos et pistele miksi et pistele?

Yritän joka jouluksi tehdä jokaiselle lapselle oman koristeen. Näin ollen heillä joskus on sitten valmiit koristeet omaan kuuseen. Jokaisen koristeen takana lukee omistajan nimi ja vuosiluku. Voivat sitten kotona vietettyjä jouluja muistella, kun jokaiselle vuodelle on oma koriste. Ainakin kuvittelen näin =). Yleensä lapset saavat itse valita (ainakin vanhimmat lapsista, jotka osaavat sanoa mielipiteensä) millaisen koristeen haluavat, mutta tänä vuonna saavat tyytyä muutama vuosi sitten pistelemiini kuviin - niistä saa jokainen valita omansa.

Hyvällä mielikuvituksella tässä näkyisi jo se laivakin eikö?

Ei varmaan tarvitse suomeksi valittaa DMC:n hintoja =). Minulla ei ole minkään mallisia lankoja koko settiä - olisin vararikossa, jos olisi. Kirjaakaan en langoista pidä, vaan kaikki pienetkin jämäpätkät on nätisti (kröhöm) puolattu pahvipuolille ja ovat numerojärjestyksessä omissa laatikoissa. Kaikki jäännöslangat on siis otettu talteen, jos vain ovat neulaa pidemmät =).

How many different brands of “complete” embroidery floss sets do you own? How do you keep track of it? (i.e., spread sheet program, index cards, palm pilot, etc.)

 

Oh, I don't have any complete set of any floss. I would be in bankruptcy if I would buy them all. One skein costs at is cheapest 0,8 euros in Finland. The most expensive was 1,3 that I had to buy and it was normal DMC cotton nothing special. My flosses are on bobbins in numerical order and I check my bobbins when I need the floss. I don't have any programs or cards to keep track of them. Maybe because I don't have that much of them anyway. I save all left over threads if those are longer than a needle!

There is a catch, of course, the way this works is that if you sign up, you have to blog this as well and continue sharing.

Eräs ulkomaille lentävä salainen projekti (paljastuu joulukuussa) on hidastanut tätä työtä, mutta tässä hieman katsausta mitä merirosvoille kuuluu.

One secret project that is going abroad ( I will publish it in December) has slown me down. Here is an update of my pirateproject.

Taivaan pistely on aika tylsää. Samalla värillä puoli- ja ristipistoja. Ja taivaan pistelyä riittää vielä. Ehkä ensi viikon pistelen vaihteeksi tuota laivaa.

It is boring to stitch the sky. It is stitched with the same colour half and cross-stitches. And there is still plenty of it left. Maybe I stitch the boat next week.

Syyslomalla en pistellyt merirosvoja lainkaan, vaan kassiin pääsi nämä kaksi söpöläistä.

During our autumn vacation I didn't stitch pirates at all. I came home with these two cuties.

I promised to put here a photo of birthdaycards that I received last week. Pansies are from Heidi, stitching fairy is from Jaana, hardanger bookmark is from Tuulia and the rosehips are from Irene.

This project is for my twinboys. This was so fun looking design that I got thrilled about it too.

Ostin tällaiset kehykset Oulun makasiineilta muutamalla eurolla. Eikös nämä soveltuisi tälle työlle ihan hyvin? En ole vielä kehystänyt työtä - laitoin vain kehykset malliksi =). Lisätietoja taulusta löytyy Violariumista.

I bought these frames from Oulu with only few euros. Aren't these suitable for this picture? I haven't framed the picture yet - I only put the frames on the top of the work to see how they fit. More information about this work you can find from Violarium.

8-vuotias poikani oli tehnyt neulatyynyn koulussa ja halusi antaa sen minulle. Eikö olekin mahtava =)?

My 8-years old son had made a pin cushion at school. He wanted to give it to me. Isn't it gorgeous?

Tällaisen ajattelin pistellä kummipojalleni joululahjaksi. Nuori mies tykkää majakoista, joten sen takia tämä aihe.

I planned to stitch this for my godson as a Christmas gift. This young man likes lighthouses - that's why I chose this design.

Pöytäliinat ei oikein innosta, kun se kuvio pitää tehdä kahdesti ja pahimmassa tapauksessa neljästi. Tämä liina oli kyllä siinä mielessä mukava, että se valmistui nopeasti =). Paljon mieluumin pistelisin tauluja, mutta äidillä on se ongelma, että niitä on todella hankala saada tiiliseinään ja tuntuu siltä, että äiti enemmän ilahtuu näistä liinoista. Seuraavaksi kyllä pistelen taulun lahjaksi tuli mitä tuli.

Tablecloths are boring to stitch cause the patterns have to be done twice or in the worse case four times. This tablecloth was quite nice to stitch cause it was so quick to stitch. I'd rather be stitching pictures that can be put on the wall but my mom said it's too difficult to hang those (walls are made of bricks). I got a feeling that my mom apreciates more tablecloths but my next gift for her is a picture no matter what.

Neulavihkoni valmistui. Mielestäni kauneinta tässä työssä on tuo reunus. Se on niin ihanan värikäs.

My needlecase is finished. I think the most beautiful part of this work is the border. It is so colorful.

Yleensä viimeistely aina viivähtää, mutta tässä tapauksessa piti kaivaa ompelukone esille heti.

Usually it takes some time before I get the sewing done but in this case I had to do it straight away.

En voinut vastustaa aloittamasta tätä neulavihkoa. Tällaisia ihanuuksia löytyy Violariumista Malli on Le Bonheur des Dames'in ja nimeltään se on Automne. Tykkään näistä syksyn väreistä, vaikka nuo kaikki neulavihkot oli aivan yhtä ihania.

I couldn't resist to start this needle case. These wonderful kits can be found at Violarium. The designs is Le Bonheur des Dames' and it's name is Automne. I like these colours of fall thogh all these needlecases were as pretty as this one.

It is that time of the year that I should be thinking of Christmas presents. This tablecloth is going to be a Christmas or birhtday present for my mom. Blue is her favorite colour.

Here is a picture of the finished work. It has wrinkles cause  our iron broke down just when I was going to iron this.

Olen liian laiska irrotaakseni työtä q-snapseista, joten tässä kuva q-sanpsien kanssa curious-työstä. Rakas 3-vuotiaani päätti sitten leikellä vähän äidin lankoja ja uhriksi joutui tämä työ. Lisäksi viime ja tämän päivityksen väliin mahtuu jonkun verran purkamista, siksi työ edistyy niin tuskallisen hitaasti – seli, seli =).

I’m too lazy to take off my work from the q-snaps so here ia a picture with them. This is a picture from the work curious by DMC. My dear 3-year old decided to cut mom’s threads and the victim was this project. Despite of that  I had to do quite a  lot frogging after last update so that’s why the work is proceeding so slowly – excuses... =)

Matkalla Itä-Suomeen valmistui autokäsityöni ja se on tässä. Oli vähän liian tiheää kangasta autossa pisteltäväksi ja tulikin ehkä noin kaksi kertaa pisteltyä tämä, kun piti purkaa niin monesti. Tämä on DMC:n malli Fir trees.

I finished this on our journey to Eastern Finland. It was a bit too big count to stitch in the car and I stitched it approximately twice cause I had to unpick stitches  so much. This is a design called Fir trees by DMC.

Vihdoin ja viimein sain aikaiseksi kuvata tämän aloittamani työn. Työ on DMC:n kitti nimeltään Curious. Tämän pitäisi olla valmiina joulukuussa, kun tytär täyttää 6 vuotta.

At last I managed to take a picture of this work that I started. This is a kit by DMC called Curious. This should be finished in December when my daughter has her 6th birthday.

Tämä työ on ollut minulla autokäsityönä. Ajattelin pistellä sen valmiiksi niin voin aloittaa uuden autotyön sekä seuraajan wild rose fairylle. Tässä Best friends -sarjassa on muitakin pisteltävän ihania malleja.

I have stitched this work in the car. I thought to finish this one so I am able to start two projects - one to stitch in the car and another to stitch because the wild rose fairy is finished. In this Best friends series  are other stitchy pictures that I would like to stitch one day.

Päätin etten päivitä blogia ennen kuin on jotain kunnollista näytettävää ja nyt on. Villi ruusu keiju valmistui. Muutama oikea ruusu on kuvan reunoilla (ne siis ei ole pisteltyjä heh heh) luomassa taiteellista vaikutelmaa. Kukinta-aika alkaa olla pihassamme jo ohi, joten oli senkin vuoksi "kiire" saada työ valmiiksi.

I decided that I won't update my blog until I have something to show you and now I have. The wild rose fairy is finished. I put few real wild roses to the edges of the work to create artistic view (those are not stitched lol). The blooming season for wild rose is soon over so I was in a hurry to finish my stitching before that.

I would like to start a new project so I could change the stitching time to time.

Näköjään olen saanut vähän pisteltyäkin, vaikkei siltä oikein tunnu.

It seems I have managed to stitch a little though I don't feel like it.

Tämä osallistui UFO RR:ään, vaikkei oikea UFO ollutkaan. Jaana pisteli tätä kanssani.

I participated the UFO RR with this work though this wasn't really an UFO. Jaana stitched this with me.

Nyt tämä suururakka on valmis ja voi ruveta suunnittelemaan uusia pistelyitä. Ideoita?

Now this big project is finished and I'm able to start planning new projects. Any ideas?

Ettette täysin kyllästyisi blogiini ja traktoreihin niin tässä vähän vaihtelua. Tämä on "autotyöni" - tätä siis tein automatkoilla (helpompaa kuoppaisilla teillä kirjoa kuin pistellä).

In case you are totally fed up with my blog and tractors here is a little bit change. This is embroidered  tablecloth. I have embroidered during the carjourneys. It's easier to do embroidery than to stitch in our bumpy roads.

Tämä traktori oli nopea pistellä. Melkein kokonaan on samaa sävyä ja pari valvottua yötä sairaiden lasten kanssa =(.

This tractor was quick to stitch. It's almost completely stitched with one shade of red and couple of nights awake with sick kids so... =(

Pistelinpä samalla tuon tekstinkin ja siitä tuli  hieno =), vaikka itse sanonkin. En viitsinyt purkaa, vaikka meni vähän vikaan. Kuka huomaa missä on virhe? Läheltä katsottuna ei näyttänyt niin pahalta, mutta tässä kuvassa virheen huomaa =(.

I stitched the text now too and I think it looks great. I didn't unpick the stitches though I made a mistake. Who notices where I did wrong? When  I looked the text closer the mistake didn't seem so bad but in this photo it shows clearly =(.

Olen keskittynyt tuohon Bastin SAL työhöni (webshot-kansiossa), joten ovat nämä traktorit jääneet vähän vähemmälle huomiolle. Sain tuon Bastinin Pecking orderin valmiiksi, joten ensi viikolla ehkä yksi traktorikin valmistuu.

I have been concentrated on the Bastin SAL project (it's in my webshot album) so these tractors haven't proceed very much. I finished the Marjolein Bastin design Pecking order so maybe next week I get one tracotor finished.

Tämä ei ole lempitraktorini (jos näistä nyt joku olisi), mutta nopeaan se on edistynyt.

This ain't my favorite tractor (if any of these are) but it has been quick to stitch.

Is this tractor for ladies? My son wasn't so excited about this tractor. He claimed this one is for his big sister.

Jippii, ensimmäinen traktori on tässä ja seuraavaakin pikkuisen aloitin, vaikka lapset ovat olleet sairaana (pienimmät ovat edelleen).

Yippee, the first tractor is here and I already started a little bit of the next one though kids have been sick (the smallest kids still are sick).

Eikä vieläkään valmistunut tämä ensimmäinen traktori. Aion tehdä jälkipistotkin samaan syssyyn, vaikkei sitä suositella.

Not yet finished the first tractor. I intend to stitch the backstitches too straight away though it's not recommended.

Uusin WIP on traktoritaulu pian 3-vuotiaalle pojalleni, joka on innostunut kyseisistä vempeleistä. On ollut todella hidasta pistelyä, kun aihe ei ole minulle mieluisin ja pistely kestää varmaan koko loppuvuoden. Tauluun tulee 9 traktoria ja tässä on viikon tuotos. Huoh.

My newest WIP is a tractorpicture for my son who is soon 3 years old. He is crazy for tractors. It has been really slow to stitch this after all the theme ain't my favorite. This takes whole year to complete. There is going to be 9 tractors and here is what I have achieved in one week.

Jaatiina haastoi minut kertomaan viisi omituisuutta itsestäni. Ensinnä ilahduin huomatessani, että joku vielä muisti blogini olemassaolon, enhän ole päivittänytkään tätä aikoihin. Sitten olen miettinyt mikä minussa olisi omituista...

1. Tykkään, että tiskipöydällä ei ole mitään. Ei ainakaan muuta kuin tiskiainepullo. Meidän taloudessa se on hyvin harvinaista, että saan pidettyä pöydän tyhjänä =)

2. Kaapinovien pitää olla kiinni. Ärsyttävää on myös se, jos kaapissa joku tavara estää kaapinovea menemästä kokonaan kiinni tai jos kaapinovensaranat ovat löystyneet niin ettei ovi pysy kiinni.

3. Tykkään syödä jäisiä puolukoita. Myös kukkakaali on hyvää jäisenä.

4. Mieheni mielestä omituisinta lienee, että minun pitää olla joka paikassa ajoissa. Mieluummin odotan puolituntia kuin olen minuuttiakaan myöhässä.

5. Olen niin tavis, etten kyllä enempää keksi omituisuuksia just nyt =)

Tässäpä tyttäreni synttärikortti. Pistelin tätä pihalla, kun työsin vauvaa vaunuissa. Nyt alkaa jo olla liian kylmää moiseen - harmi.

Here is a birthdaycard for my daughter. I stitched this outside when the baby was in the carriage. Now it's too cold to stitch outside - what a shame.

Olen pistellyt lähinnä UFO round robinia,  joten päivitykset tänne ovat jääneet. Nyt ajattelin laittaa kuvan pikapistelystä ja joulukortti on menossa siskolleni ja hänen perheelleen.

I have been stitching mainly UFO round robin so I haven't put up any pictures to this site. Now I thouhgt to publish a picture about a Chrsismas card that I stitched for my sister and her family.

Katilta tuli aivan ihanan suloinen neulavihko ja vielä pistelty korttikin. Lisäksi paketissa oli Aarikan heijastin ja Atalien käsinvärjättyä lankaa ja neuloja. Sain muuten edellisessä suomalaisen listan SS vaihdossa Johannalta myös ruskeaa ja vihreää Atalien lankaa (ei ihan samoja sävyjä) - hauska sattuma. Vai tunnetteko minut jo niin hyvin, että olette osanneet kaikista kauneimmat langat valita? =)

From Kati I got the most cutest needlebook and stitched card. I got also a reflector (cat's eye) by Aarikka and hand-dyed threads from Atalie and needles. As a matter of fact in the last Finnish SS exchange I got also a brown and green threads from Atalie (not exact the same shades though) - funny coincidence. Or do you know me so well that you are able to choose the most prettiest colors? =)

Maria pisteli tämän kauniin päiväkirjan ja kukkakoristeen. Ihanan siististi olet kirjan saanut päälystettyä. Pystyisinpä joskus samaan. Ja miten ihmeessä tuon ornamentinkin olet kasannut... Siis ihan nolottaa omat väsäykset näiden rinnalla.

Maria stitched this beautiful diary and the ornament. The diary is so neat that I'll probably never manage to finish anything so neatly. And how on earth you made the ornament... I'm relly ashamed of my finishings when I look at these.

Marilta sain ihanan syksyisen pistellyn kortin, BentCreekin ja Brittercupsin mallit sekä korttipohjan. Varmasti tulee pisteltyä molemmat mallit joskus - erityisesti tykkään tuosta purjeveneestä =) Bent Creekin mallissa. Tekemäsi kirjanmerkki on todella kaunis.

From Mari I got a lovely stitched card, charts from Bent Creek and Brittercup and a card. I'm sure I will stitch both charts one day. I like especially the sailing boat in the Bent Creek chart. The bookmark that Mari made is really beautiful.

Tämä paketti tuli täytenä yllätyksenä Sarilta. Eiköhän nämäkin mene käyttöön =). Ehkäpä innostun kokeilemaan pinkeepin väsäämistä =)

This package was complete surprise from Sari. Sari decided to send this RAK package full of goodies for my birthday.

Ulla yllätti takavasemmalta - olen kyllä ihan sanaton. Siis mistä osasitkin noin ihania lahjoja laittaa ja mistä ihmeestä olet löytänyt tuon maailman mahtavimman kirjanmerkin!?! Ja tuo pelilautamalli - voi voi- arvaa katselinko kaksosille Norjasta tuliaiseksi sellaista vähän erilaisempaa shakkipeliä. Oli vain niin turkasen kalliita. Nyt voin tehdä sen itse! =) kiitos, kiitos!!

This package was a complete surprise as well - Ulla I'm wordless. How on earth you succeeded to find such a wonderful gifts. And where you found the world greatest bookmark!?? And the gameboard sampler- oh my. I thought to buy a little bit different chess board for the twins from Norway but those were way too expensive for me. Now I can make one for them! Thank you!
